The truth arrived at 02:38, when a plow spent nineteen minutes on that exact lot, but the truth was recorded nowhere except in a tired driver's memory, and the snow that fell at 6 AM erased the physical evidence. Without tracking, this conversation becomes a negotiation. With tracking, it becomes a lookup.

The tolerance is deliberately small: the drawn area plus about 15 metres, enough to cover the truck parked at the edge of what it clears and ordinary GPS error, and no more. An address with no drawings yet falls back to a 40-metre circle around its pin, which is your reminder to draw it properly. Even a drawn line, a kerb or a path, counts with its own tolerance.
The practical instruction hiding in this: draw the area you want cleared, not a generous halo around it. The drawing is simultaneously the job description, the quote basis, and the tracker's definition of "arrived".
Check-In and Check-Out, Without Hands

In practice: position is recorded for the dispatch the driver started, while it runs, and the phone records one dispatch at a time. Ask the same question of any tracker you evaluate, and ask it in front of your drivers; the vendor's answer, and your drivers' faces, will both be informative.
Field note: introduce tracking as the thing that ends billing disputes and 6 AM blame calls, because that is what it is. The crews who've been accused of skipping a site they actually cleared are usually the fastest converts.
Hardware Trackers vs the Phone in the Cab
Dedicated vehicle trackers have their place (fuel, maintenance telemetry, theft), but for service proof they have a structural problem: they know where the truck is, not what job it's on, who's driving, or what happened at the stop.
